Costa Rica is an awesome country to visit and experience the pristine beauties of the mangrove swamps, majestic forests, mountain chains and dry lowlands. All these provide habitat to large array of bird species around the globe that turn Costa Rica to a famous terminus for bird watching adventures.

 

According to recent statistics there are around 893 different species of beautiful birds that come and dwell in this marvelous country. The number of bird species is much more than the number in Canada and USA combined. Out of this mammoth number, 600 species come from region surrounding Costa Rica. 19 species are considered as endangered and around 7 species are considered endemic, so if you want to feel the beauty of these birds – you have to plan a tour to this wonderful country which has so much other tourist extravaganzas to offer apart from the bird watching tours.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is an inexplicable area of densely verdant vegetation lid with a profuse cloud cover. This splendid eco-tourism location is a best bit of many bird watching adventures. There are quite a number of hummingbirds and intensely colored quetzal is found in this reserve.
