I'm not sure if this is exactly the thing for rainforests, but hot springs appear to be a very famous attraction in Costa Rica. Hotels and inns that have their own connection to the Costa Rican hotsprings are bound to attract a lot of visitors, foreigners or locals alike.

Among these hotsprings, the Tabacon Hot Springs Spa & Resort is probably the most famous of them all. Located close to the Arenal Volcano, the Tabacon Hot Springs gets its hot water from the Tabacon River as it gets heated while flowing near the surface lava seams of the volcano. All of this is fused together with the luxurious amenities available in this resort, and that makes the Tabacon Hot Springs Spa & Resort as famous as it is today.

Perhaps, the Tabacon spa is the only full-fledged spa in the country where there's a hotel available. There's also a swim-up bar plus some other fancy restaurants that can serve you food before you head on to the spa and experience any of the numerous therapeutic treatments available here, from aromatherapy to shiatsu to even volcanic stone therapy.

There are a few drawbacks, however. Since Tabacon is the country's highest-quality hotspring, it is already to be expected that you got to pay high for the effort and capital invested by the owners of this little piece of paradise. During the peak months, also expect the hotel to be full of people because of the fame. If you really really want to be in this hot spring resort during the peak season, make sure that you've already made your reservation weeks in advance.

And oh, you also have to know that the resort lies in the direct path of lava flow should the Arenal suddenly blow up. Don't worry, volcanoes don't erupt that suddenly anyway. You can still run.
